School Partnerships

Our school is situated within Ashfield Council. The council is highly active in youth and educational affairs and runs many activities during the year. It also provides services and support for our students and the wider community.

These include:

  • The Red Bug Playgroup in Ashfield Park
  • Free monthly immunisation clinic
  • Parenting Seminars
  • A comprehensive Inner West Children's Directory

The Wangal Playgroup is for children aged between 0-5 and their parents, grandparents or carers. It is a partnerhsip between The Infants' Home, Ashfield Council and Ashfield Public School. The playgorup offers children a variety of art and craft activities, building and construction activities and dramatic play. It also provides opportunities to learn new social and language skills as children interact with each other. Parents and carers can play with their children in a safe and friendly environment which offers a range of activities to suit all ages and stages of developement.

The playgroup is held each Wednesday between 9.30am and 11.30am in the Ashfield Public School Hall.

The KU Playgroup has a strong base learning philosophy. The early years are a special time in a child's life, an exciting period of discovery and learning.

KU meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the Community Room for three year olds.

Good Start Childcare is located in our school grounds. Local teachers and carers create engaing and educational progrmas to foster learning through play with an individualised approach. Students can register daily. Centre opening hours are 6.00am - 9.00am and again at 3.00pm - 6.00pm. An exciting holiday program is also offered.
