Student representative council

The Student's Representative Council (SRC) plays an active role at Ashfield Public School.

SRC Executive

An SRC Executive consisting of Year 6 stuents is elected at the beginning of Term 4. The term of office for this Executive runs until the end of Term 3 the following year.

Term 4 is a transition time for the current and the incoming SRC Executive. .

The role of the SRC Executive includes conducting and running fortnightly SRC meetings, speaking at special assemblies, greeting visitors to the school, representing the students at various functions and displaying outstanding leadership qualities.

Class SRC

Each class elects 2 representatives per term who attend the SRC meetings.

These representatives report on relevant issues and lea their own class in discussions which centre around playground issues, school rules, fundraising ideas and any other student interest topics.

The decisions that are made are reported at the full SRC meeting held on alternate fortnights.

The SRC is  involved in fundraising especially for LACLA (Let African Children Learn Association) which is a project supporting the education of students in Zambia.

Community Engagement

Each year students are nominated by the school for the Community, Citizenship and Art Awards run by Wests Ashfield Leagues.

The awards were established to shine light on Inner-West schools and students playing a part in helping to make our local community a kinder and more caring place.
